With 7.2 channel surround sound in HD and 4K Ultra High definition upscaling, watching a film becomes an unforgettable experience. 
8 HDMI inputs, of which one MHL compatible, let you connect a multitude of devices. For playback in other rooms the VSX-1123-K offers HDZone, a Zone 2 HDMI out for routing either the same signal as the main zone or a separate source to a second zone via HDMI.

Aside from a digital connection with your iPod, iPhone or iPad, you get easy-to-operate worldwide internet radio (vTuner) and network streaming via DLNA or Apple AirPlay when you connect via LAN (optional adapter for wireless LAN available). Enjoy high-resolution music file playback such as WAV, FLAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless via LAN or USB. WAV, FLAC, AIFF and DSD (USB only) in resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit are supported. The VSX-1123-K also offers playback of audio files stored in the Direct Streaming Digital (DSD) format through its front USB.

Via the built-in ECO Mode you can save energy without compromising on sound and video performance. Compatible (free) smartphone/tablet apps include the advanced remote control app iControlAV2013.

Aligning channels with Phase Control
Phase Control is an innovative solution for the phase lag in multi-channel speaker setting. It compensates the delayed bass to improve sound synchronization.

Auto Phase Control Plus
Auto Phase Control Plus makes real-time analysis of the phase difference between the LFE (low frequency effect) and the main signals during disc playback, and automatically compensates the gap.

Hi-bit24 Audio Signal Processing
Hi-bit24 works to create undistorted sound, bringing out the best in the 24-bit DAC. Maximum performance is gained by applying the technology to expand signal resolution, creating more detailed, smooth sound, closer to the original analogue signal.

DSD Playback and DSD File Playback
The VSX-1123-K can play high-quality DSD (Direct Stream Digital) audio files from SACD discs via HDMI. It can also play up to 2.8 MHz DSD files from a USB memory stick, letting you enjoy superior sound without any special players.

Playable PC Audio Files
Various music files can be played via USB, DLNA and AirPlay, with support for gapless playback*. You can enjoy up to 192 kHz/24-bit high-resolution FLAC, WAV, and AIFF audio, as well as 96 kHz/24- bit/Apple Lossless compressed music files.

ECO Mode
Pioneer's intelligent ECO Mode comes in two settings. ECO Mode 1 features moderate energy saving operation while maintaining high-quality sound. It is ideal for CD music, 2ch audio files, and internet radio. The higher energy-saving ECO Mode 2 features moderate sound quality, and is suitable for content with dynamic sound such as movies (multi-ch/2ch) or live concerts. The ECO Mode can be accessed in three ways - from the front panel, remote control, or the ECO Manager on iControlAV2013/ControlApp.

Ultra HD (4K) Upscaling
Ultra HD (4K), usually referred to as 4K, is the next generation ultra-high-resolution standard with 3,840 x 2,160 (24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz) pixels or 4,096 x 2,160 (24 Hz) pixels - four times the current HD 1080p standard. With Marvell's Qdeo™ video processing technology, the AV receiver upscales standard video sources into high-resolution 4K image, for viewing on a 4K-compatible display.

Ultra HD (4K) Pass Through
The feature lets you take advantage of the highest quality video source, by passing through 4K signals for viewing on a compatible display.

iControlAV2013 App for iOS/Android
With the freely downloadable application, you can use your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad as a remote for controlling the AV receiver's various functions. The app is also compatible with Android. The latest version comes with improved user interface and new features including the STATUS VIEWER, PUSH PLAYER, and ECO MANAGER. With the Sound Explorer function, you can easily adjust various sound parameters in a fun and intuitive operation.

Pioneer's AVNavigator is a user-friendly support feature for the AV receiver's wiring and operation, letting you easily set up the AV receiver straight out of the box on your PC/Mac/iPad. An interactive HTML manual, Wiring Navi, and MCACC application are included in the AVNavigator. It also helps the user with software/manual updates.*

x.v.Colour
The VSX-1123-K supports x.v.Colour, which almost doubles the range of colours (known as the "gamut") that can be accurately captured, and reproduced on a compatible display, thereby more closely matching the natural characteristics of the human eye.
* "x.v.Colour" only available for playback of discs recorded with AVCHD devices.

HTC Connect™ Certified
Pioneer is the first leading partner to provide HTC Connect certified devices. Through wireless transmission, HTC Connect lets you easily stream high-quality audio from compatible devices such as Android phones, with no need for a separate app.

Compatible with Windows 8
The AV receiver is compatible with Windows 8, letting you easily stream music from compatible PCs on your home network.

Android Audio/Video Playback with MHL
The front HDMI terminal is MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) compatible, letting you connect an Android device with a MHL cable. High-definition video can be displayed on your HDTV with multi-channel sound, while also charging your device.

HDMI ZONE Out (HDZONE)
The AV receiver is equipped with HDZONE HDMI output terminal, for streaming HD audio/video content to a separate room. If unused for HDZONE, the terminal can be used for MAIN ZONE OUT 2.
